ACC Foundation Accepting Nominations for Education Advocacy Award

LITTLETON, Colo. – The Arapahoe Community College Foundation is now accepting nominations for its annual “Promoting the Power of Education” award. The award recognizes an individual or organization in the community that demonstrates support of higher education through leadership, financial support or advocacy and actively promotes the power of education.

Last year, the ACC Foundation recognized Steve Spangler of Englewood with the award. Spangler is owner of Steve Spangler Science where he promotes science kits and educational toys to help get kids excited about science.

Those interested in nominating an individual or organization that promotes education can do so by going to the Foundation’s website,, and filling out the nomination form. Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 28.

The recipient of the Promoting the Power of Education award will be recognized at the Foundation’s Fifth Annual Scholarship Luncheon this Spring at ACC.  In addition, student scholarship recipients and the donors who support them will also be honored at the event.

“The luncheon is an opportunity to showcase an individual that the Arapahoe Community College Foundation Board of Directors believes is making a difference in the world of education,” said ACC Foundation Director Courtney Loehfelm.
