CANON CITY – The Fremont Campus here has added two full-time employees who are vital to helping provide a quality educational experience to the ever-growing student enrollment.
The new hires are DaLin Gilland-Green as the Student Services Coordinator and Judy Thompson as a full-time faculty member in the Nursing program. Both bring a wealth of high-level experience to their respective positions.
Gilland-Green has worked at the Fremont Campus in a number of capacities since 2002, when she was a full-time instructor of computer information systems, business and business technologies courses. In 2004, she became a part-time instructor and an hourly academic advisor.
DaLin has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, two Master’s in Business Administration degrees from Regis University, one with an emphasis in accounting and finance and the other in international business, plus additional Master’s in Computer Information Science degrees in networking technologies and e-commerce, those also from Regis University. She has also completed all of her coursework toward a Ph.D. in education and human resources, with a specialty in community college leadership, at Colorado State University-Fort Collins.
Meanwhile, Thompson brings 18 years of experience as a registered nurse to an already formidable Nursing program. Her background is in medical-surgical nursing, and she has eight years of teaching experience in Nursing programs. She a full-time faculty member in the program at the Community College of Denver from 2007-2011 and was the chair of its associate degree nurse program from 2009-2011. Before that, she was a full-time faculty member in the nursing program at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC from 2003-2007.
Thompson also has worked as a registered nurse at several locations, two of which were major hospitals – FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, NC, and Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, WA. In 1993, she was inducted as a member of the International Honor Society of Nursing – Sigma Theta Tau.
A native of Illinois, Judy has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University and a Master of Nursing degree from the University of Washington-Tacoma.
“We are so pleased to have hired two very highly-qualified and outstanding individuals,” said Jennifer Pierceall Herman, Dean of the Fremont Campus. “Both of these positions were vacant for several months and are critical to the success of our students. Both DaLin and Judy are great assets and additions to our team.”
The Fremont Campus currently has 755 students attending classes (headcount) for the fall semester.
