(Denver, CO.) In December 2011, Community College of Denver Radiation Therapy program had seven students graduate. Four of them had secured jobs while still in school, and in January 2012 all seven passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam certifying them as radiation therapists. A 100% pass rate is an exceptional achievement due in part to the implementation of Virtual Environment Radiation Therapy (VERT), CCD was the first college in the U.S. to obtain and implement VERT technology. An advanced educational tool, VERT provides students with a valuable virtual experience in administering radiation therapy.
Radiation therapists work in a variety of clinical settings providing radiation therapy treatment to cancer patients.
