LITTLETON, Colo. (Mar. 30, 2012) – The Writers Studio at Arapahoe Community College will hold its Sixth Annual Literary Festival on Saturday, April 21, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall (Room M1900) at the Littleton Campus.
The event will include workshops in nonfiction, poetry, fiction and multi-genre taught by nationally published, award-winning writers highly experienced in teaching writing workshops.
The festival will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the presentation of awards, as well as readings by the winners, from Writers Studio Literary contest. The morning workshops, featuring Carmen Gimenez Smith (“Revision as Writing”) and Harrison Candelaria Fletcher (“Hermit Crabs and Other Thievery”), will run from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and readings by workshop faculty from 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Advanced reservations are required, as each workshop will be capped at 20. Fee for non-ACC students is $25 for one workshop session (morning or afternoon), or $45 for both workshops. The full-day fee for ACC students is $20. Lunch is included with all reservations, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Writers Studio Scholarship Fund. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the ACC Dining Hall.
