OJC Rattler Men and Women advance in NJCAA Tournaments

Rattler Basketball Teams Advance

LA JUNTA – Last week, the OJC Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams were each crowned Region IX Champions in their respective tournaments. The regional championships qualfied the teams to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournaments.

In their first game of the NJCAA national tournament, the Otero Junior College Rattlers advanced to the second round with a 64-62 win over against Wabash Valley College (Ill.). Otero will now move on to the second round of national tournament action. They will play on Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. against NW Florida State.

 The Men’s NJCAA National Tournament is being held in Hutchinson, Kan.

 The Otero Junior College Lady Rattlers defeated Meridian College, 48-42, on Thursday in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Women’s Tournament. The Lady Rattlers will now play Southwest Ill. College on Friday, March 23 at 11 a.m. MST.

The Women’s NJCAA National Tournament is being held in Salina, Kan.
