ACC’s Auto Tech program earns four Master Accreditations

LITTLETON, Colo. (Apr. 4, 2012) – The Automotive Technology program at Arapahoe Community College has earned NATEF Master Accreditation for its GM ASEP, AYES, Chrysler CAP and Honda PACT automobile technician-training programs, as announced by NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc.).

Auto Tech has earned four Master Accreditations from NATEF

Rigorous on-site evaluation of the College’s GM ASEP (General Motors Automotive Service Education Program), AYES (Automotive Youth Educational Systems), Chrysler CAP (College Automotive Program) and Honda PACT (Professional Automotive Career Training) automobile technician-training programs demonstrated that ACC has attained Master Accreditation – which is the highest level of achievement recognized by NATEF – in all four areas. Nationally accepted standards excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities and equipment were used during the evaluations.

“We are very grateful that our program has earned this recognition,” said Jerry Viola, Director of Automotive Technology at ACC. “This five-year accreditation is vital for us to continue building relationships with our industry partners. We have worked tirelessly to make this program the best, and achieving these accreditations provides our current and future students with an excellent opportunity to be trained and to excel in the auto industry.”

ACC’s Automotive Technology program was also nationally recognized as the “2011 School of the Year” by Tomorrow’s Technician magazine last May. Furthermore, ACC now provides intensive training in Plug-in and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technologies, and the College has recently purchased a Nissan LEAF and a Chevy Volt for the Automotive Technology program.

“I would like to congratulate our Automotive Technology program for a job well done,” said Dr. Diana Doyle, President of Arapahoe Community College. “The efforts of our faculty, staff and students are representative of the academic excellence that we strive to achieve at ACC.”
