CCA celebrating ‘Day of the Girl’ with H.S. students

The Day of the Girl is about highlighting, celebrating, discussing, and advancing girls’ lives and opportunities across the globe. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution two years ago as an official girls’ rights day.
At Community College of Aurora, the Oct. 11 event from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. will focus upon science, technology, engineering and math and the possibility of going to college by inviting about 65 students from West Preparatory and South Middle School for a day full of activities.
Workshops, speakers and demonstrations will be included, involving departments ranging from Computer Science to Art and Design.
A project emanating from the day is planned on the web after the event.
