LITTLETON, Colo. (Mar. 27, 2013) – The Writers Studio at Arapahoe Community College will hold its Seventh Annual Literary Festival, Writing that Springs, on Saturday, Apr. 13, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Half Moon (Room M1800) at the Littleton Campus.
Join us for a day of celebration as ACC’s Writers Studio facilitates a workshop to provide students and the community with access to the best writers in Colorado. The 2013 Literary Festival will include award presentations, workshops, readings and lunch. Workshop participants will be able to choose from morning and afternoon workshops in creative nonfiction, poetry and fiction taught by nationally-published, award-winning writers who are highly experienced in teaching writing workshops.
The festival will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the presentation of awards, as well as readings from the winners of the 2013 Writers Studio Literary Contest. The morning workshops, featuring Marcia Douglas and Marilyn Krysl, will run from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and readings by workshop faculty from 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. The afternoon workshops, featuring Kate Hopper and Brian Kiteley, will run from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Advanced reservations are required, as each workshop will be capped at 20. Fee for non-ACC students is $25 for one workshop session (morning or afternoon), or $45 for both workshops. The full-day fee for ACC students is $20.
Lunch is included with all reservations, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Writers Studio Scholarship Fund. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
