(TRINIDAD, COLORADO) The Women’s Exchange of Trinidad donated $2,000 to the Trinidad State Educational Foundation on Monday. The money will be used to support two non-traditional female students. Each woman will get a $1,000 scholarship over a period of one year.
The Women’s Exchange is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 in Trinidad. The group honors organizations that serve women.
The group sponsored a luncheon on March 23 which featured a High Tea, a silent auction, fashion show, jewelry sale and goodie bags. In the past the organization has supported local groups including Advocates Against Domestic Assault, Hope Pregnancy Center, the Soup Kitchen and the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC). This year the Women’s Exchange decided to support educational opportunities of women through the Trinidad State Educational Foundation.
Women’s Exchange members Addi Segers, Sally Van Lanen, Kathy Topping and Karen Jo Agnello presented the $2,000 check to Trinidad State President Dr. Carmen Simone and Educational Foundation Director Toni DeAngelis on Monday, July 29, 2013. Women’s Exchange board members not present were Karen Malone, Terrie Barros, Christina Duran and Sara Bulson.
