LITTLETON, Colo. (Aug. 27, 2013) – Arapahoe Community College has received a $25,000 grant from the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation, as announced today by Courtney Loehfelm, Executive Director of the ACC Foundation.
The grant from the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation is designated to be used for childcare stipends for low-income student parents who are pursuing their education at Arapahoe Community College and have children enrolled in the ACC Child Development Center. The grant period is September 1, 2013, through August 31, 2014.
“Arapahoe Community College and its student families are extremely grateful for this tuition assistance from the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation,” said Loehfelm. “High-quality early learning programs like that of our on-campus Child Development Center can help overcome the effects of poverty with a continuity of care that contributes to the long-term educational success of at-risk children.”
The Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation has provided $200,500 in childcare stipends and support to the ACC Child Development Center since 2004.
Founded in 1962, the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to supporting the positive development of children across the state of Colorado through grants and partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Grants are awarded in the areas of early childhood education and development, and teen pregnancy prevention. Since its inception, the Buell Foundation has awarded over $100 million in grants.
