On Friday, February 7, 2014 the email below was sent out to all CNCC faculty, staff and students from Jason Krueger, FBO Coordinator/Airport Maintenance/Flight Instructor. He reported the news regarding the Regional NIFA competition held in Prescott, Arizona. The National NIFA competition will be held the second week in May in Columbus Ohio, and they will start fundraising now to make enough to send all the pilots to Ohio.
On behalf of my coach, David Blood, and myself we just wanted to send a quick note about the CNCC flight team. We just qualified for the national flight competition for the third time in five years! We finished second overall to the US Air Force Academy. The competition was held in Prescott, AZ this year because of the government shutdown it had to be moved so we are very thankful that Embry Riddle Aeronautical University invited our entire region to come and compete with them. It was a very good team win, everybody contributed, but we are all very tired. We are planning on heading back tomorrow and I will send an update on how everyone finished when we return. Also, I attached a photo of the CNCC flight team photo with our trophies! (I think we need a new case)
