Trinidad State starts Clay Shooting Team

(TRINIDAD, COLOCJ_LeeRADO)  After two try out sessions, Trinidad State has selected eight students to be members of the new Clay Shooting Team.  Try outs were held on February 7 and 14 at Prator Shooting Range.  A total of 18 students shot 50 rounds of ammunition in skeet and 50 rounds in trap and those 18 were narrowed down to eight, based on their scores.

They’ll practice each week, firing 250 shells each, in preparation for two competitions coming up next month.  The first is hosted by Colorado State University on March 22 and 23, and then the next week the team will compete in the 2014 ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio.

Trap Team Members:  Kullin Alldredge, Luke Tibbits, Barry Russel, Wilhelm Orten and Kevin Wedgworth.

Skeet Team Members: James Norin, CJ Lee and Patrick Murray.
