LITTLETON, Colo. (March 17, 2014) – Arapahoe Community College will host an early childhood professionals celebration on Thursday, April 10, from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Dining Hall and Waring Theater.
Join us for an enjoyable evening reconnecting with colleagues and learning about new industry trends. Early childhood education (ECE) industry partners in attendance will include the Colorado Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC), Arapahoe/Douglas Works!, Invest in Kids, the Arapahoe & Douglas County Library Districts, TEACH Scholarship, Qualistar, Licensing and early childhood councils. Representatives from ACC’s Library and Academic Advising office will also be on hand.
The celebration will also include an early childhood job fair from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., and the festivities will include refreshments and door prizes. This event is free and open to the public (no RSVP necessary), and free parking is available in all campus lots. All participants at this workshop will receive a two-hour continuing education certificate.

7:00 – 8:30 p.m. (Waring Theatre – Room M2900) – Priscilla Queen, Early Childhood Literacy Specialist, will speak on the art of storytelling
This event will be held in conjunction with “Week of the Young Child”, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the celebration is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This year’s “Week of the Young Child” celebration will be April 6-12 and the theme is Early Years are Learning Years.
