RRCC to offer free workshop ‘Interviewing Techniques to Land Your Perfect Job’

LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College’s ‘Connect to Success’ department will offer a free workshop on  Interviewing Techniques to Land Your Perfect Job on Wednesday, April 9 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the college’s Lakewood campus.  The event is open to RRCC students, staff and the community.

Workshop presenter, Rick Bernstein, a Interview Techniques for press releasepresentation coach, has been working with job seekers, presenters, actors, and sales people for the past 30 years helping them hone their presentation and interviewing skills.  “Dale Carnegie calls it extemporaneous speaking, athletes call it being in the zone, actors call it improvisation,” said Bernstein. “The outcome is the same. Being in the moment, focusing on the task at hand, and listening to what is being said makes all the difference for a successful interview and continuing your job search.”

The workshop will feature tools and interviewing tricks presented in a one-hour informative and entertaining presentation. Bernstein will cover tips on attire, posture, eye contact, and the power of truly listening to the interviewer, with the goal of attendees feeling confident, assured, and relaxed in their next interview. The workshop also features participants who have agreed to mock interviews and a chance for the audience to provide sample questions. Bernstein will coach the mock interview participants on how to improve their performance and first impression. A booklet that Bernstein authored, Interviewing Techniques to help you land your dream job! will be provided to all attendees. For more information, contact diane.burke@rrcc.edu or 303.914.6523.
