MCC Competes at State and Advances to Nationals

Morgan Community College (MCC) had three students recently compete at the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference at Johnson and Wales University in Denver. Two students placed at State and will compete in the National Leadership Conference in in Nashville, TN this June.

The group competed in ten events and placed in the following five:

Computer Applications event – Mitzy Ugarte placed 2nd (National qualifier)
Personal Finance Event – Sylvia Ontiveros placed 3rd (National qualifier)
Retail Management Event – Teresa Mendoza placed 4th
Word Processing Event – Mitzy Ugarte placed 3rd (National qualifier)
The Business Decision Making Team– Medndoza, Ontiveros, and Ugarte placed 5th

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The association has four divisions for students in middle school, high school, postsecondary, and for professional businesspeople.
