NJC receives $1.3 million federal grant for wind-tech program
Northeastern Junior College is indeed the recipient of a $1.323 million dollar federal grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor, to be used for wind energy training. The grant is part of the Department’s awarding of $125 million in Community-Based Job Training (CBJT) grants to 41 community colleges and organizations across the country. This was the Department’s only CBJT grant awarded in Colorado.

Keeping infection under control
Young doctor provides NJC nursing class with guest lecture
Big words were being tossed around like the infectious agents they represent on Friday when students in the licensed practical nursing class at Northeastern Junior College were listening to a presentation by a young, soon to be doctor. Emeen Kiureghian, a medical student at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio Sciences was a guest speaker in an arts and skills class taught this week by Mary Lederos at Northeastern Junior College . Bringing in guest speakers always adds value to the instruction, especially when it is another young person who is willing to share his or her experience and education.

Randy Steidl draws large crowd at NJC
On May 28, 2004, after 17 years, three months and three weeks of wrongful imprisonment – Randy Steidl became the 18th person to be freed because of a wrongful conviction after serving time on death row in an Illinois state prison. Colorado Young Farmers hold successful State Institute
STERLING, CO–Over 190 members, sponsors, advisors and guests were in attendance at the Forty First Colorado Young Farmers Educational Association Institute. It was held earlier this year at the Ramada Inn in Sterling, Colorado.
